Let’s start the week with a new Signal Rex offering, in the form of this star-gazing melodic black metal from new Czech band, Bran. Smuteční Průvod is one of four tracks on this debut EP which simultaneously evoke the chaotic brutality and visceral valour of ancient battlefields, and the stillness of cosmos under which the majesty of such epic deeds unfold. Rippling melodic black metal of the old school, attuned to the stars. In an interview on Black Metal Daily, published today, master band maniac Blackwild says this about this track: "The only song that is not completely inspired by nature is “Smuteční průvod”, which I’ve dedicated to our country and language. The Czech language is certainly one of the most beautiful languages. Even though I like English, Czech is still my favourite, my mother tongue. It’s a very difficult language to be mastered though."
