Todays’ Amor Fati dual-feature continues, with the stratospheric rawness of Aerdryk’s Met de drietand op mijn huid (“With the trident on my skin”). A soaring companion to Oerheks’ album (which you can check out here:    • Oerheks - Cagghenvinna (full album, 2...  ), Aerdryk uses a core of pummelling drumming to whip up clouds of billowing atmosphere, which are charged with a burning electricity; a crackling, snarling, and humming of blackened trance (and in De Rode Klauwen, an ethereal chorus to match the artwork). Where Oerheks draws from a collective folklore for the themes in his album, Aerdryk goes for the personal, and a caustic vendetta against religion. Together, they make for perfectly complementary albums, representing two of the core themes of black metal, of tradition and history, and the righteously anti-religious; both delivered in exquisitely composed forms.
