I don't know why Swedes are able to create one amazing band after another.
It's difficult to explain why this album is so good. I can't play instruments, so I can't go into technical details. However, if you are a fan of that special Swedish sound, in the vein of Tribulation but much heavier, then get this album right away. 😈

Having just purchased the last Darkened album during their launch listening party, plus having the label and the one band member in common (Tobias C.) I get the new In Aphelion pre-order in my feed and got it immediately. While waiting I got the Luciferian Age EP and had to come to this one reading all the amazing reviews!! Listening to this with a great headset I realised how great and complex it is. I almost like it better then the last Necrophobic 😉
Favorite track: Sorrow, Fire & Hate.

After hearing the Luciferian Age EP this album instantly became one of my most anticipated albums for 2022. And it did not disappoint. It was in my top 3 albums for 2022.
I love the atmosphere throughout the album. It's not a relentless beating all the way and 'This Night Seems Endless' with its slower tempo quickly became another favorite of mine. But what I love most from all of the songs has to be 'Draugr'. From the guitar solo in the middle all the way to the end is so beautiful! ❤️ Favorite track: Draugr.

so many gems in this album but after i went through this in order for my review, i kept returning to this anguished call to humanity, an emblem of despair in vast nothingness. a shred of hope dashed, as this album as a whole speaks to the annihilation of the ideals of humanity and the pedestals they sit on - and what happens when we watch all that shatter. there are plenty of outer space themed albums, but VORGA brings us something worth listening to.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!
