Anthems of Mournful Despondency is a solemn awakening of spirit over flesh; Track titles translate to Anxiety, Wistfulness, Contemplation, Compliance, and Pain; five stages of human experience the body and mind can submit to. Extrapolating from the concepts of the album, Lord Valtgryftåke explains that pain can be used to channel “a superior construction of the intellect towards various internal parameters of the Temple.
